Content Palette 2017

In the new 2017 version of LT I would like the block library I built in 2016. I made this by generally right clicking blocks and 'adding to content palette'.

I am guessing this is a file stored somewhere that I can add to the 2017 version?

One good thing I notice about the 2017 version is the content palette is much quicker than previous versions. No hanging when using the search function! 🙂

Hi,

When you add block from current drawing to Content palette library the information about this block is added to the .ATC file which name maches the name of the Library in which you add the block.

Source block stored in the file from which it was added, so if you remove the original file from which block was added to Content palette library the block icon will remain in the content palette, but AutoCAD will not be able to insert this block to the new drawing.

So if you want to migrate Content palette library from 2016 version you actually need to copy BLOCK_LIBRAY.atc file (where BLOCK_LIBRARY is the name of block library you want to have in 2017 version) from
~/Library/Application\ Support/Autodesk/AutoCAD\ LT 2016 Standalone//R20.1/roaming/@en@/Support/ToolPalette/ folder to the corresponding folder of AutoCAD LT 2017. Plus the original files from which blocks were added should be in place.
