Apologies for any improper terminology, I'm new to this.

So what the heck is going on here? I'm trying to get AutoCad to show an isometric grid, but the button to do that doesn't appear to be in the task bar thingy at the bottom of the screen. What do I do?

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Zachary,

The button which toggles grid visibility is here:

If you need isometric grid, you need to use "Drafting Settings" command (menu Tools -> Drafting Settings) to turn on Isometric snap:

To change to a different isometric plane quickly press F5 (Fn+F5) or CTRL+E to select a different isometric plane.
