I have tried subtract many ways and cannot get it to work. I am just using a box and cylinder to subtract a hole.
Very simple stuff, but it does not work. Also, the solid pull down does not show anything but Box. Where did the other 3d shapes go ?

Hi,
When you are using SUBTRACT command you need at first select objects from which you want to subtract, then hit Return and select objects you want to subtract from the first selection set. Then hit Return to finish command.
Do you use that exact workflow?
I have attached my file. It is very simple, just a box which I want to drill a hole thru. I cannot get subtract to work on it .
Thank you.
Hello Maxim,
I have attached the file. Very simple box that I want to drill a hole thru.
Thanks
I made a quick video using your drawing file to show this process.
I am using AutoCAD for Mac 2018.2 on Mojave. First I show how you can select the small down arrow to the bottom right of the BOX to show the other 3DSolids types.
Then, I type SUBTRACT (I could have used the same small down arrow for the third icon to get to the SUBTRACT icon), I first pick the box to subtract from and then I select the cylinder.
I hope this helps.

Thanks, but there must be something wrong with my s/w. I am running Mohave and AutoCad for Mac, but
the solid pull down does not work, it only give Box, and I cannot get subtract to do anything. I am also running Inventor LT on this machine with no problems ?
ok I got subtract to work. Also, for solids, I learned I had to slide cursor to lower right arrow to get pull down. That was strange to me. So we are solved. Thank you.
Hello,
I am having trouble getting subtract to work. I am on a mac. I am doing exercise 10 in Chapter 16 of Autocad instructor 2020. See my dwg file attached.
