Can't create a new text style in AutoCAD for Mac

I have a rather basic question about a simple action: how do I create a new text style in Autocad for Mac?!

I know how I should do it, but when I get the text style dialog box and click the "+" under the text style list on the left, NOTHING happens.

What am I missing here?

Which AutoCAD version do you have and which OS X installed on your Mac?

I'll have to check tonight - I think it's Autocad 2015 for Mac on Yosemite.

The thing is: I had this problem a few months ago and then I found the solution, but I forgot...

Please ensure that you have installed last Update for AutoCAD for Mac:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-for-mac/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autocad-2015...

If AutoCAD is updated, than try to Reset AutoCAD settings.

I did a reset (Acad was already updated with the latest update). But... that didn't resolve my problem. I started another file, based on another template and this one DID allow me to add text styles. The file I was working with still doesn't allow me to add text styles when I click on the "+" in the text style dialog box. Maybe it's really file/template related? Can someone from Autodesk confirm?

Anyway, my problem is resolved. Thanks for helping.

Try to run AUDIT command in this problem file and repair errors if any.

Hi, I attached the dwg. For some reason, I can not add the dwt: "The attachment's titleblock.dwt content type (application/dwt) does not match its file extension and has been removed."

Don't mind the language (it's Dutch) - and as for the text: you probably won't have the font I'm using...

Hope you can find the problem.

If not, I can work with the new file I got, but it hasn't got all my layers. Is there a way to get all the layers from my first template into the new one (the one where I can add text styles?)

Hi jo,

Here is the solution of your problem:
- Open your drawing use STYLE command to open Text Style dialog box
- Rename text style STYLE1 to something different, for example to STYLE-1
- Apply changes with Apply button
- Use + button to create new text style

text style bug.gif

It appears there is a bug in AutoCAD for Mac which prevents from creating new text style via Text Style dialog if one of the existinf text styles has the name STYLE1
