Can't change the z/x positions of an object

I am a very new user to AutoCAD and it has been working normally. But now whenever I change the position z or x values of an object and hit enter it will just place the object randomly changing both the z and x values. So say I change the x value to 3, it might make the x -43 and the z -128 or something and I've got no idea why.

I'm on autocad for Mac(the difference in interface is sooo annoying)

I've included a screen recording of the problem

thanks in advance;)

Hi,

if you try the same action in a new empty CAD dwg , any changes ?

try when you change the position value to click by mouse in the model space instead of enter , any changes ?

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Levi,

You have user coordinate system active, which is different from WCS (world coordinate system).
AutoCAD shows X Y Z values for selected object in current UCS.
But there is a bug in AutoCAD for Mac: as soon as you start to set new value for any of X Y Z coordinates AutoCAD reads X Y Z values in Properties Palette as XYZ in WCS and moves object to that new position.
If you want to adjust position of an object correctly using Properties Palette on Mac, you need to change coordinate system to WCS (temporary), then adjust coordinates, then change coordinate system again.

The problem doesn't happen if I open a new project.

Clicking out with my mouse does the same thing as enter

How do you change it to WCS?
