Hi I have been trying everything to resolve this issue. I have a client urgently awaiting the pdf for planning and I have exhausted myself and every option I could think of! Basically as the title says cadlt for mac freezes when trying to save/export/preview as a pdf.

Any help would be greatly received

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Daniel,
As possible quick solution I can suggest you to try to create new user account - just for test, you can later remove it.
Than login to this new account, launch AutoCAD and try to print top pdf from this new user account.

Please look here:

You need "Add a user" section - the type of user could be administrator or standard user.

>>>I can't seem to add a user

Why?
It is so easy to open Users and Groups pane of the Mac OS System Preferences, than unlock "Padlock" with your password:

Than click on + button:

Than fill everything in this window and click on "Create user":

It should be in the Autodesk folder inside Applications folder, which is acceptable from any account (except from Guest user account).

OK
Another way to try to resolve the issue with freezing when printing is to reset AutoCAD from Application tab of AutoCAD preferences.

Hi @Anonymous, I know you are in excellent hands with Maxim_K.

Now that you have created the new user and logged on with that account, simply use the magnifying glass search tool at the top right of your screen. Type in AutoCAD and it should find the application for you.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post fully solves your issue or answers your question.

Hello all

Thank you once again for all your help

I have had a reassuring email off Autodesk support after raising a case last week, so it seems my 16 hour days trying to resolve this issue and buying a brand new Mac havent been in vain I've learnt a lot from googling and landing in these forums thank you.  Apparently it is a problem with Cadlt for mac, its freezing when trying to plot one of the many hatched areas. They are going to log a bug report with their development team and send them my drawing to test. There are ways around this but it would be extensive so the the quickest solution is to save it on a windows version of mac to print/save as Pdf, Lucky I still have my old mac with parallels.

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please send me the drawing which can reproduce the issue, and let me know which area/layout did you print? I assume your OS version is 10.11.5 El Capitan. I'd like to push on a fix for this issue, and being able to reproduce it in our development environment would be very helpful.

You can reach me at: wei.ma@autodesk.com.

Thanks,
Wei

Hi Danielle,

I'm just curious which specific hatch pattern force AutoCAD to hang during printing (exporting to PDF)?
Can you also attach one of your problem drawings here?
