CAD LT Mac - High Sierra issue?

CAD LT Mac - High Sierra issue?

Anonymous
No aplicable

Tried launching AutoCAD LT after installing OS 10.13 High Sierra on a new machine and got this error message... "Folders on your computer that AutoCAD needs access to are not available. AutoCAD cannot run until folder permission issues are resolved."

Is this a temporary OS incompatibility or has anyone experienced this anytime prior?

Any help greatly appreciated, as tech support takes days to respond.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Nicholas,

Have you installed AutoCAD LT 2017.2 Update?

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-lt-for-mac/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autocad-l...

It fixes compatibility issues with macOS High Sierra.

If yes, then try at first restart your Mac, if this will not help, then try to Reset AutoCAD: hold down Shift key while you pick on AutoCAD icon in Dock to launch it.

I have the same problem.  The update didn't work and I tried holding the shift key when launching, but still didn't work.  I am a new Mac user and don't know my way round the operating system like windows.

I am trying a reinstall of Autocad with the update again to see if this works, otherwise I have an iMac with a Version of Autocad that is unusable....  (not a dig at the people trying to help, just frustrated)

Good News!  Reinstalling CAD with the update works.  Hopefully no more issues!!

I uninstalled AutoCAD LT for Mac 2017 and it will not permit me to re-install it. It will not allow the installer to run. It gives me the following message:

"Autodesk AutoCAD LT 2017 for Mac can only be installed on System drive formatted with Journaled HFS+ (Mac OS Extended Journaled) file system."

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

To be honest, I am a new Mac user, so not the best person to ask.  I had the compatibility issue listed above and the system allowed me to uninstall and then reinstall the software.  You might want to try restarting the mac before the reinstall?  Hope it works for you!!

Hi Tracy,

What installer you have tried to use for reinstallation?
Is it the new one from:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-lt-for-mac/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autocad-l...

Can you also attach screenshot of the Disk Utility window with the partition on which you want to install AutoCAD selected?

Verify that you are trying to install the FULL version of ACAD LT MAC 2017.2 (as mentioned above in link) and to your Macintosh HD. Also open Disk Utility and confirm that your Macintosh HD shows "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)".

You should have installed the ACAD LT MAC 2017.2 update first on macOS Sierra 10.12.x then updated to macOS High Sierra 10.13. Otherwise, just download the FULL ACAD LT MAC 2017.2 version and install.
