I've been having this problem since the beginning of the semester (1 month) and I have no idea what started it. Every time I start a new drawing, (I use acad.dwt) and save it, cad starts automatically saving versions of it whenever it feels like. In the folder that I saved the drawing in, new ones start showing up. For instance, if the file was called house.dwg, a house 2.dwg, then house 3.dwg just start showing up in the folder. As you can see in the attached picture, it has gone up to 21. The only file that I ever saved or saved as is "moodel.dwg" (ignore the stupid name). I noticed while taking that screenshot that it is also happening to my sketchup files, apparently? So it might be a Mac problem. It has happened to every single file for the past month. It started when I was running Yosemite and Autocad for Mac 2015. I upgraded to both El Capitan and Autocad for Mac 2016, thinking one of those would solve the problem. But alas, it didn't.
If anyone has any ideas please help me out! I'm running out of patience!
Help! I have this problem too. I am running autuocad 2015 mac on sierra osx. It is making me crazy.
Did the suggestions made by Maxim help ?

Where do you save drawings on your Mac?
Can you provide full path?
Do you have this option enabled:
Maxim
I save them in my documents folder> clients>client name> autocad. Yes I do have that option enabled
Thanks for all your help on this. I have updated autocad with update 4. Since the icloud backs up all files, there is no way around this. I do hope that autodesk figures this out soon as it is a big problem. At the end of the day, I have dozens of extra files that autocad automatically created.
I don't think it's related to internet connection. It happens every time I hit save or close a file. No other programs I run do this, so it must be autoCAD-specific.
