Big Sur Performs as normal, but on Monterey a lot of parts of the same drawing are transparant

Hi all, I have two MacBook Pro's, one running on Big Sur with the latest AutoCad LT 2022 updates and one running on Monterey with the latest AutoCad LT 2022 updates.

When I now open the same drawing on both systems, Big Sur Performs as normal, but on Monterey a lot of parts of the same drawing are transparant where Transparency shows 90 in the properties (on both Systems). But this does not effect the same drawing on Big Sur. Does this sound familiar to anyone of you ? Can this be a system variable that I am overlooking ?

I appreciate your help with this.

Best regards, Peter Bakker

Hi Peter,

@PBJE

Do you have "Show object transparency" option enabled on both Macs?

Hi Maxim,

Thanks for your speedy replay as usual.

I thought it was a system variable and it was.

Not "Show object transparency" but "Transparencydisplay".

On the system running Big Sur it was (0) and on the system running Monterey it was (1)

They now both are (0) and look like things are identical again.

This must have happend with updating system OSX and AutoCad as I never changed this system variable.

The other strange thing is that I do not receive automatic updated for AutoCad anymore for both systems.

Also when I click "Check for updates" nothing happens.

I need to do this manually.

Best regards, Peter bakker

There is a button on the Status Bar:

which toggles TRANSPARENCYDISPLAY Sys Var, you might accidentally switch it.

Please check if you have enabled notifications for AutoCAD in the Notifications pane of macOS System preferences.

Hi Maxim,

I removed the buttons from the Status Bar that I do not need to prevent making mistakes on both systems.

So that still makes me wonder how this could have happened.

I have enabled notifications in the MacOS system preferences and that is working again.

Thanks for all your help !

Regards, Peter Bakker
