AutoCAD LT for Mac file provider/Google Drive - xref issue

Our office is experiencing an issue with the last OS update and conflicts with our AutoCAD LT for Mac.  We use Google Drive to access our files. It appears the Google drive is controlled by a new Mac feature called File provider and is no longer saving to /volumes/gdrive/shared... but instead /users/*user name*/... This is causing havoc when we are collaborating on various CAD files because XREF links are broken for other team members when the base files are saved.

Any ideas on how to resolve this file path issue?

This is what I have found in Google Drive help:

"If you have configured applications to explicitly use file paths referencing Drive for desktop’s streaming drive, you will need to manually change these paths to continue accessing them as you did previously."
