AutoCAD LT for Mac - drawings are all 'read only' since upgrading to Big Sur

I upgraded my Mac to Big Sur this weekend. Whenever I open an AutoCAD file, they are all 'read only.' AutoCAD is up to date. Any thoughts on what is wrong?

There might be some over in the AutoCAD for Mac forum.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Hi Lisa,

Are your drawings on an network drive?
If yes and you open them by double-clicking in Finder, then looks like there is a bug introduced with Big Sur.
Try to use File -> Open in AutoCAD instead of double-click in Finder to open your drawing.

Yes, that seems to be the case. When I try to open the file by double clicking in the Finder, they are read only. But when I open through AutoCad, they open just fine. Hopefully Apple will fix the bug, as I prefer to open them from the Finder. But at least there is a work-around for now. Thanks!

Seems like the same problem is still going since Mojave or even earlier.
Is there going to be any fixes, I don't get it, how a simple bug like this are left on the software.

I feel a bit frustrated, it feels like Autodesk don't realy care about it's customers with Mac OS...

Or maybe Apple doesn't care about it's customers with AutoCAD.

Hey

we have the same issue here, since we made the "Big Sur" update yesterday. On mojave it was working perfectly..

did you fix the problem since your last reply ?

working on several cad files, the process by opening each file on the autocad program with "file/open/..../drawing.cad" works for me, but it's a bit complicated compared to a double click :'(

I’ve found no solution other than using ‘file/open/…’ Agreed that it’s more cumbersome, especially since I’m so used to the double-click method. I’m hopeful that AutoDesk / Apple will figure out a solution on their end. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
