AutoCAD LT for MAC - CMD+Z (Undo) Bug?

Hello,

in our company we have now switched to version 2024 for AutoCAD LT for MAC.
All of us have encountered the problem that the last action is no longer undone with the key combination "command+z". With the arrow button it is still possible.
Also the variable "undoctl" is set to 53, as it should be.

Does anyone have the same problem, or am i missing something?

Thank you in advance

Hi @dominik.grossler ,

What do you see in the Command window when you use Cmd+Z shortcut?

BTW, you can use simple U command to undo last action.

Hello Maxim_k,

thanks for the answer.

Command line says:

command: _mredo

Specify number of actions or [All/Last]: 1 No recovery possible.

It worked perfektly in the previous 2023 version. Never had this problem before.

@dominik.grossler ,

I cannot reproduce this issue on my side.

Command+Z works as U command, and Ctrl+Z works the same way.

What is your Mac model? Are all Macs in your office the same?

Have you created any custom shortcuts with CUI command?

_MREDO command is what your session is set to use for CMD+Z, literally the opposite of your desire https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACDMAC/2023/ENU/?guid=GUID-B7FA1535-51E4-4980-A6F7-CDF98C86B3B6

How about CtrL+Z?
How about U command?

Not sure how that's possible OOTB otherwise, was there more to your 2024 migration that simply installing the new software then running it? Are you using a QWERTY keyboard?
Apple's stock keyboard or something else?

is it time for a program reset just to make sure we are all on the same level?

The U command works as well.

We all have a MacBook Pro Apple M1, 16GB, newest macOS Update.

We have not created any custom shortcuts with CUI command.

Yes I think so too, but we haven't changed any of the default settings since upgrading.

Ctrl+Z and Cmd+Z do the same thing - _mredo

U command works, but I can't use this when I am still inside another command.

Nothing else than installing and running it.

We use a QWERTZ keyboard for the MacBook Pro and it worked before.

What do you mean by program reset?

I don't thing installing it new will help, because everyone has the same problem, not depending on the macOS version. We also still have verion 2023 and it works perfectly.

Thanks

Have you tried to Reset AutoCAD?

Try to Reset AutoCAD and don't migrate custom settings from previous version if AutoCAD will ask you.

I didn't migrate in the first place, because we don't have any custom settings.

Thanks

I could solve the problem myself.

Apparently the assignment for cmd+z and cmd+y were swapped.

I don't know why and it only seems to happen in the 2024 version, but we can now change it back and it works.

Thank you to everyone, who helped.

Can I ask how you switched them back? Cause I also have the same problem, command+Z doesn't work. Thanks in advance.

@julie_vangansbeke

Of course, sorry I forgot to write it for others.

I have to state, that I am from europe, so we work with QWERTZ keyboards.

Also when the undo didn't work in AutoCAD, it still worked in all other programs. So for me it was no option to change settings on Mac.

What I did was typing command "cui" directly in AutoCAD. Then under "shortcuts" I searched for "undo" and changed it from cmd+Y to cmd+Z. Then I searched for "redo" and changed it as well. (In my case to cmd+shift+Z)

Of course you can change it the way you like, but be careful to not override any other existing commands.
