AutoCAD LT for Mac 2024 - Options / Selection Mode changes from file to file / bug?

I upgraded to AutoCAD LT for Mac 2024 and noticed that when I open a new file, the selection options are automatically changed to "Hold Shift Key to add selection" and the box is checked. I have to open OPTIONS and uncheck the box each time I open a file. My experience has always been that OPTIONS don't randomly change from file to file, ever. Anyone else notice anything like this? Any suggestions for a solution? Thanks in advance!

This might be isolated to the Mac version. Try that forum.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Please hurry this is driving our office buggy. I saw the solution but no-one here is advanced enough to know how to even open a terminal window.

I'm reverting to 2023. Not sure why we're paying to beta test 2024 :cara_con_la_lengua_fuera_que_guiña_un_ojo:

Experiencing changes in the selection options when opening a new file in AutoCAD LT for Mac 2024 can be frustrating. To address this, start by resetting the AutoCAD LT settings to https://clearuplift.com/ their default values, which can be done through the Preferences or Options menu. Check your template files (.dwt) or drawing files (.dwg) to ensure they are not causing the selection option change. If necessary, modify the template files accordingly.

I hope this can be fixed too because I have noticed the same thing on my AutoCAD LT 2024 for Mac and it is very frustrating having to uncheck this option every time I open a new drawing. Thanks for your help and look forward to hearing from the AutoCAD team soon :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:

Not only is this happening with each file on my end, it's rechecking itself INSIDE A FILE without reopening.  I just downloaded AutoCAD 2024 LT a week ago for a new MacBook Pro.

Use "Check for Updates" from AutoCAD LT menu or download the Update from your Autodesk account.

HI @e_brown1 ,

What version do you see in "About AutoCAD" window?

Do you use any custom commands or scripts? If yes, please verify that they don't change PICKADD System Variable

I am using the most recent version with updates 2024.01. Haven't had it do it lately. I don't have any nor never had any custom scripts. Just seemed to be a glitch.

When will this issue be fixed? It still happens on my Mac Desktop and now my new Mac laptop. It's not the end of the world, but very annoying and disruptive to workflow.

Yes, that was how it was fixed with the update on Autocad. My autocad
doesn’t automatically download I have to go to the website sign in and then
find the updates, download it and install it.
