Autocad LT 2018 MAC Data link

Hi,

I am currently using Autocad LT 2018 MAC, I can complete a data link from an excel file but all the formatting of the table do not transfer (Column width, row height, fill colours). I have attached a few screen shots so hopefully this helps.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Cliff,

In my experience, table formatting (width and height of cells) is almost never displayed correctly. At the same time, font and color design (cells fill color) is transferred to AutoCAD fairly correctly, although there are some strange distortions.
Can you share your Excel table?

I tested your Excel table and got the same result as you.
Columns width, rows height and fill colours are not preserved.
In AutoCAD for Windows everything works as it should, so that is AutoCAD for Mac fault.

Thanks for your help.

Its a shame as it gets very frustrating to reformat the tables every time.

I don't suppose you know any work arounds, it seems even if I copy and paste it doesn't work.

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

Yes, the formatting is less than perfect on BOTH the Mac and Windows sides (in my opinion).  I believe some of this is due to OS architecture.

At any rate, I am away from my Mac today but I am happy to explore if there is anything else that can ease this painful process.

Do you find the formatting issues are primarily a concern when first placing the table or are you also having problems when updating the linked data?

Hi John,

Once I have resized all the cells and do a datalink update the formatting does remain so thats ok but just painful to begin with.
