AutoCAD LT 2015 MAC : OS X 10.10.2 : Hangs on quit

AutoCAD LT 2015 MAC : OS X 10.10.2 : Hangs on quit

I've been having an issue for some time where upon quitting, AutoCAD will just hang, it will never actually quit.  This requires that I force-quit the application.  It doesn't matter if I save+close all open drawings first or not.  It doesn't seem to do it all the time. It seems to do it after AutoCAD has been running for some time.  I run it on a laptop, so the machine is put to sleep and woken up again duriong transportation; perhaps that is a contributer?

I checked to see if there were any updates, but I'm apparently up todate.  I have recently tried to reset AutoCAD and enable OpenGL.  The latter of which seems to have resolved a high CPU issue I was having as well, so that's a good thing, I guess.

I have a Mid-2014 MBPR Retina | 2.8Ghz i7 | 16GB | NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB

Forum searching doesn't have anything specific to my case; they all seem to be inssues starting up, not shutting down.

Any ideas?

Maybe someone from Autodesk is listening?

Thanks!

PC going to sleep/Autocad freezing up afterwards is probably a sign you either need to extend the sleep time to not affect you or get in the habit of restarting Autocad more often in your workday.

Hi Jason,

If you have rental AutoCAD license, than it is known issue, which was discussed here:
http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac-general/autocad-lt-for-mac/td-p/5381355
The workaround for now is to create new drawing before you want to quit AutoCAD, than quit application.

Hi pendean,

To clarify - my laptop only goes to sleep when I close the lid to transport it.

Hi Maxim,

Thanks for the link. I don't know why my search-fu failed me. I couldn't find anything relating to hanging issues on shutdown before I posted here...

In any event, I tried the suggested workaround, but it was ineffective. I did gather a sample and I will send it to Wei.

I am using autocad lt desktop subscription for mac. Every single time I am done using autocad and choose quit the program just hangs there and to stop it it always needs to be force quited.

I hope they fix this since it seems to have been a bug for a while now...

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

It is already solved on Jul 28:

AutoCAD LT 2015 for Mac Update 3

Jul 28 2015  |  Download

Applies to AutoCAD LT for Mac 2015

The Update 3 specifically resolves the issue that AutoCAD LT 2015 for Mac sometimes hangs at quit. The Update 3 is a combo update which also includes the fixes in Update 1 and Update 2. It can be patched directly over the original version, the Update 1 version or the Update 2 version of AutoCAD LT 2015 for Mac.
