With y new touchbar mac with Sierra autocad for mac 2017 crashes every time I close a drawing whether I make no changes or close after saving the drawing.

I am experiencing the errors you are describing. Problems occurring, and causing ACAD to crash when entering edit page setup, even in an entirely new drawing.

When do you expect the hotfix to be ready ?

I've gone back to 2016, much better but still have occasional crashes.

I am experiencing the same issues in ACAD 2016, unfortunately.

When can we expect a hotfix?

When I try to check for the update my notification tells me that it is up to date.  My computer still crashes when I try and use page manager. I have Autocad  2016 and I have the Mac touch bar.

Hi,

The Hotfix was released only for AutoCAD 2017, but you have the same problem in 2016 version.
Looks like we need to wait for the response from developers.

Hi

Have the new mac with touch bar and running 2017

Some times just selecting an object is difficult unless I zoom in and out.

Also Purge and - Purge don't seem to work , No combo box appears

It gives me an option for All but then nothing seems to happen

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

I'm not sure about object selection, but PURGE command works fine on my side.
In AutoCAD for Mac PURGE command doesn't have dialog box interface - only command line, so you need manually select options inside PURGE command to work with.

Look at the command prompt and select options and response to AutoCAD prompts.

For example when you want to use ALL option in PURGE command, you need to answer to the additional prompts from AutoCAD:

Command: PU
PURGE
Enter type of unused objects to purge [Blocks/DEtailviewstyles/Dimstyles/Groups/LAyers/LTypes/MAterials/MUltileaderstyles/Plotstyles/SHapes/textSTyles/Mlinestyles/SEctionviewstyles/Tablestyles/Visualstyles/Regapps/Zero-length geometry/Empty text objects/Orphaned data/All]: all
Enter name(s) to purge <*>: <- here you need to hit Return
Verify each name to be purged? [Yes/No] <Y>: n <- here you need type n and hit Return

Than the command should work and you will see prompts about purged objects (if any).

HI
Thanks for reply
Selection is a little weird . every now and again it just will not let me pick . if I zoom in and out , then it will work. If I pick another object and then go back to the one I was having trouble with. It works. Weird.

Purge.
I went through the prompts, All, <*> and N a few times, But nothing seems to happen.

I asked one of my colleagues who has recently put 17 on his standard mac pro and his Purged fine.

I wonder , can I do some sort of Repair?

What do you see in the command window on your Mac when you are trying to use PURGE command? From the time when you enter PURGE to the time when Command: will appear again.

Can you attach unpurged drawing here? I can look at it.

Hey!

My problem is, when I go to page setup, auto cad 2017 crashed down. I have a new MacBook Pro with old touch bar. So I know, there is an issue with this one. But when I want to install the hot fix, my computer says; that auto cad isn't closed, so I CAN NOT install this hot fix... What can I do? Because I don't know what to do anymore...

Kind regards,

Yasemina

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Yasemina,

Before starting Hotfix installation you need to close AutoCAD completely with QUIT command, then restart your Mac.
You can also close AutoCAD during Hotfix installation - you yourself posted screenshots of the alerts where you can close AutoCAD.

Hi,

I'm using AutoCad 2015 on the new MacBook Pro with touchbar. Is there also a hotfix for this version? Because when I open edit page setup, AutoCad crashes every time.

Thanks!

Are you running a MacOS version newer than the system requirements for R20154Mac? Then that's your problem https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-for-mac/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticle...

Updates can be found with a websearch if you want to explore the help files for each https://www.google.com/#newwindow=1&q=autocad+for+mac+2015+updates

So how can I solve it?
