AutoCAD mac looks very different compared to normal AutoCAD. There are no toolbars at the top, they are on the side because "The Mac version is designed to have a similar look and feel to other popular Mac applications".

I don't know what wall you are taking about, there are too many lines in the drawing. Can you highlight them in the photo?

Looks like your drawing is missing some xrefs, so the missing wall might be missing because it is on an xref. I recommend you read about xrefs (basically, they are when you combine more than one drawing into a single main drawing). I use xrefs all the time, they are very important.

It's a custom setup, that's not the mac default.

"i am trying to open an dwg that someone sent me but i can't see the walls (like in the pic). how can i change it?"

  • Check to make sure all layers are on.
  • Look through the DWG files you have and look for the one that includes walls. If you find the one with walls, attach it to the .DWG with missing walls by using the XREF command and updating, then refreshing the path.
  • Bind your xref to the current drawing to see if the walls show up.
  • Last resort, ask the people that provided the DWG for the external refrences.

"Also , how can i change the look of AutoCAD so that  the toolsbar will be up and not on the sides?"

  • Use the command _CUI

and / or

  • Set your Visual Style Controls to 3D Basics.

This drawing contains a large number of annotation ...

Don't worry about it unless you start seeing it often on new DWGs.
