AutoCAD for MAC “application not responding” and can’t sign in

Are any other MAC users having issues with their AutoCAD LT for Mac? I have a brand new Mac laptop and every month or so AutoCAD freezes and won't let me sign in or open the program. I've worked with multiple Autodesk technicians, who usually get it to work but the problem keeps persisting (usually after a new Mac update...)

I’ve tried:
-uninstalling/ reinstalling AutoCAD
-rebooting in safe mode
-run permission repair on disk utility
-resetting the subscription license for MacOS

Usually after a couple days I’ll get an Autodesk technician who can fix the issue, but it keeps returning about a month later and freezing again.

Can you describe or reproduce the steps that a Autodesk technician is taking to resolve the issue?

Hi @beaubo,

 

I looked up your prior cases.  It appears in one case it was determined that you were actually having some OS issues.  In the other case it appeared that your user profile had become corrupted. Please tell me the exact version of AutoCAD you are currently using by typing ABOUT at the AutoCAD command line. Please also tell me your OS version.

 

 

When you experience this occasional problem, are you connected or disconnected from the Internet?  When this happens nexxt, can you check the status of ADSSO in the activity monitor?

Which macOS? 10.12, 10.13 or 10.14?

Do you have this issue just after installation or it appeared suddenly after you were able to use AutoCAD for some time?

Yes it previously worked for a couple of weeks but yesterday started not responding or opening so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the issue is still the same.

Yes I have followed all those steps the stage that it doesn't respond is once I've opened the application and click single user to try and log in the application just closes and says not responding.

Can you show screenshot of what you see, when you cannot sign in?
Have you tried to use "enter serial number" instead of signing in?
If AutoCAD license information on your Mac was corrupted for some reason, you may also try to clean uninstall (if you have not tried this way):
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-for-mac/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/...
before installing AutoCAD again.

I selected enter serial number instead of single user then updated then it allowed me to also update the application which has meant it has stopped happening.
