AutoCAD for Mac 2018 - model space unexpectedly black, regardless of color in preferences menu

auto cad lt 2018 for mac,

the model space in one of my files has recently gone black -

it is also showing a 3d UCS icon, all other files have my typical white model space...

it remains black regardless of the color entered in the preferences>look&feel> model space menu

how can I return to 2d work space w/ white background...?

Thanks -

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Erik,

You need to set current Visual Style to 2D Wireframe using onscreen controls (upper left of the drawing area) or in Properties Palette (when no object selected).

Thanks for the advice… but I’m not finding view style controls in either location you mentioned, I’m attaching screen shots of each-

Sorry, but no screenshot attached.
Are you using AutoCAD LT?

If you are using AutoCAD LT, then you can use -SHADEMODE command to set view to 2D Wireframe:
