Autocad 2017 LT for Mac - PDF font issue

In batch plotting drawings to pdf format in Autocad 2017 LT for Mac, the batched plot drawings have "double" text for each text note when plotted (with different fonts and sizes over laid on top of one another). When I individually plot a single drawing sheet to pdf (not using the batch plot feature) the font comes out fine. Anyone know why this is and how to fix it?

Hi Mark,

If you will open PDF created with Batch Publish in Acrobat Reader you will not see double text, I believe you can see them only in Preview application. Isn't it?

The new PDF engine which AutoCAD 2017 for Mac use in Batch Publish makes PDF with searchable text, created with SHX fonts. In fact it places "invisible" notes above SXH based text, but Preview application on Mac shows these notes as additional text (and Acrobat Reader doesn't show these rectangles).

You can prevent AutoCAD from creating searchable SHX text if you set system variable EPDFSHX=0 (zero):

Command: EPDFSHX
Enter new value for EPDFSHX <1>: 0
Command:

This should also remove "double text" which appears above text in PDF file when you view it in Preview app.
