AutoCAD 2016 for Mac won't open

When I attempt to open AutoCAD, it won't. Instead, I get an AutoCAD alert with this message every time I try to open the program.

"Configuration file may be locked by another process or have been set Read Only(.cfg, .bak).
File: /Applications/Autodesk/AutoCAD 2016/AutoCAD 2016.app/Contents/Frameworks/acad2016.cfg
Please correct this problem and press Retry or press Cancel to exit the application."

I tried to update the program, but I have no idea if it was successful or not.

How do I fix this problem?

I have AutoCAD 2016 for Mac

My Macbook Pro is OS X Yosemite

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Chad,

You can try at first to reset AutoCAD: hold down the Shift key while starting AutoCAD for Mac.
If this will not help, then try to reinstall AutoCAD :
-at first perform clean Uninstall:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-for-mac/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/...
- then download installer from here:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-for-mac/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autocad-for-...
And install AutoCAD again.

Hi @Anonymous,m

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD for Mac forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Did you have success in getting this to work with either a Reset or a Reinstall?

If you are trying to get AutoCAD to work on Mojave 10.14, version 2017.3 and version 2018.2 are supported.
