trying to open autocad LT (for mac version 2017) from an existing file and im getting "Folders on your computer that autocad needs access to are not available. autocad cannot run until folder permission issues are resolved." Does anyone know why? I was working from this drawing very recently without any problems. the only thing that has changed is that i updated my operating system today to  mojave 10.14.2  . Is there a conflict between this OS and autocad LT 2017 ?

Funny. There was a reply to my post, but now its gone.

"Mike D" if you are wondering, as you had asked in your reply to keep you posted, your suggestion so far has not worked. I downloaded the update 2017.3 and restarted, but nada.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Autodesk Community.

I understand that you when launching AutoCAD LT for Mac 2017 on Mac OS Mojave, you get the AutoCAD Alert you stated in your post.

Did you install the latest update for AutoCAD LT for Mac 2017? I ask because the 2017.3 Update will fix compatibility issues with Mac OS Mojave and will also improve overall stability of the product. Please refer to the following article and let us know how it goes.

Error: "Folders on your computer that AutoCAD needs access to are not available" when launching AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT for Mac

Hi Lionel,

Thanks. As i said in my second post, which appears as a comment to my original post, someone named "Mike D" responded very soon after i had posted with the same advice, but for whatever reason removed his comment right after. Yes, i did this and got a pop up saying that the install was successful. But its still not allowing me to open auto cad.

Did you Perform a Clean uninstall of AutoCAD for Mac and then reinstall  using the full version installer below?

Hi

No i did not try a clean uninstall. Trying to perform it now .. going through the manual deletions.

Not really sure how to navigate through the system to find everything.

I found the main autodesk in applications and deleted it,  but the rest may be beyond me.

I can't find any of these-

/Library/Application Support/Autodesk

/Users/{username}/Adlm

/Users/{username}/Library/Application Support/Autodesk

/Applications/Autodesk/Mayaxxxx/ (for Maya products)

/Library/Preferences/Flexnet Publisher/FLEXnet

Step 3, i did  "find and delete - /Library/Application Support/Flexnet Publisher" as i don't at the moment have any adobe products, as far as i know.

Step 4, i could not find "/private/var/db/receipts/"

Hi,

It is not critical.

Hi @Anonymous,

These are the correct file and folder locations when performing a clean uninstall of AutoCAD for Mac.

If you leave the Finder open, you can enter "Library", "Users" or "Application" on the search bar on top. You will be able to find them. Then you can search for the folders and files to delete.

Thanks,

Thanks John,

Ultimately i needed more assistance to get things running again. Its a bit of a blur now as it was a few days ago and there have been other problems with this machine regarding the Mojave update that have overshadowed the auto cad LT 2017  problem. But i was able to speak with a autodesk representative who walked me through the various steps, as on my own i couldn't make it happen. I remember we had to manually create a file, just a word doc with some very simple code on it, and place this in one of the folders to get things to work. But yes, seems ok now.
