Maybe one of you can get me some advice. In the past, when I used windows, I used Inventor for my 3D work. Not so much of using a lot of the functionality but what I do is as follow. I make a 2D constrained sketch, with dimensions, and extract. Make some holes, or other flavors/shapes to cut some things out. After done some parts I assembly those and make a 2D drawnig of it.
Nowadays I still use Inventor running on VMware, but today I had that @$#$# windows crashed, lot of work down the drain and a lot of frustration. Since to me, as mentioned below, I do not used the full potential of Inventor. And after this happened again, I looked again for MAC!!!! alternatives, but I just can't seem to get anywhere. I dig into Autocad again, made a constrained "sketch" used the constrained dimensions, but after extract the part I do not have control anymore of the shape/sketch.. and stuck again. So I tried Sketchup Pro trial, but there it seems the problem that it is all about sketching and i want precise models which I can easily adjust after it needs modified.
I took a long time for learning the Inventor stuff, but I just do not know which way to go to get rid of that windows thing on my MAC. Should I spent more time with plain autoCAD for MAC to get this done, I am looking for something that is there but do not see, or.....
