At the moment parametric PLCs only partially regognise replacable parameters, like TAG=PLC%S for example. The problem is this only exists in the header (first block) of the parametric block and not in any subsequent blocks after the header such as input or output terminals.
What I would like to see is the ability for I/O numbering to be built from replacable parameters. So, for example, I want my inputs to be numbered from [sheet number][sequential input number] - the inputs on sheet 10 would be numbered 1000, 1001....1015 etc
This is extremely useful when you have multiple PLCs on a drawing. You will essentially have duplicate I/O addressing. Thats all well and good when the drawing is labelled with a rack number, but the reality is when you are standing looking at the I/O number on a wire, you cannot determine which PLC rack it belongs to on the drawings. Sure you can prefix the wire with a rack number but the problem is it then becomes time comsuming, space consuming and open to errors.
