What if someone from Autodesk actually went through this forum, and made us feel heard at least! As of now it's just an echo chamber for users wanting improvements to AutoCAD Electrical.

Out of the almost 900 ideas here this is the status:

Under Review: 109  (Last update from Autodesk: February 2016)
Future consideration: 105 (Last update from Autodesk: May 2016)
Accepted (but not implemented): 11 (Last update from Autodesk: April 2015)
Implemented: 12 (Last update from Autodesk: April 2020)

Future consideration: 12 (Last update from Autodesk: October 2015)

The rest are "Gathering support".

you have finally figured it out this is just a place to vent your anger at the lack of progress and autodesk can claim on thier KPI's that they are listening to their users

dosent mean they are going to do anything about it

I sat down at Autodesk Univerisity in 2018, with the product manager and one more from his team, and talked about exactly this. Follow up, or remove the idea station. Nothing has happened since.

wait a minute I have an idea why don’t Autodesk take some of the profits from the company and just buy a product that works

ooh forgot about the fact Eplan was bought by Rittal good luck in that fight to wrestle Eplan from them

same goes for Winelec which now part of Dassault systems

they could have bought See electrical but Schneider electric beat them to that

Plucky little Wscad would have been a real contender but that been bought up by a big software conglomerate

that leaves all the major players with a bigger meaner brother that Autodesk cannot fight

Well, that leaves Promis e which Bentley have driven into the ground, but would Bentley sell Autodesk a dud

software package (well the might if they are smart enough)

They could start a blue-sky project and develop a new electrical product from the ground up
And this is only a rumour I have heard whether true or not I have no proof either way
That is exactly what Autodesk did a few years ago and the project was abandoned

Which leaves us with the current situation a slowly dying product which I seem to have predicted somewhere in this forum a number of years ago

They still own ecscad. MuM is licensing the software from them. That's why they've made something new, completely from scratch. (and yes, you can import old ecscad projects of course)

Thank you AutoDesk for including shiny brand-new functions that nobody wanted while ignoring all of really good suggestions in this forum and all the huge problems and glitches that have plagued this software for decades.

AutoCADE is legitimately a joke. I'm glad I'm not the only one frustrated with this dumpster fire they call software.
Its nice to know they don't listen too, great. Why care what your customers have to say?

how worse can it get for Autodesk

Well Siemens have bought Capita electra which is a cloud based ECAD solution

so now basically every big hitter in the Automation game has either its own ECAD solution or has a

relationship with a major ECAD solution

so who proudly anounced a technical relationship with ACADE ? 

literally hundreds of sales reps meeting with real people that actually need the tools for thier work

storm clouds are forming

See elctrical now is being integrated into ETAP and already linked to Ecodial and will be integrated into Caneco

that gives engineers a one stop shop  and autodesk cant even seemlessly integrate thier own products together

Hint i love the 3d modelling capability for ACADE (thats sarcasm ) 

two things come to mind

Autodesk = Nero fiddling while Romes burning

Autodesk = the Emperor with his new clothes
