Font display on screen

I just upgraded to 2016 from 2014, and I have noticed that the Romans font used to display as narrow lines for the letters, and now it shows a little bolder where the horizontal part of the letters are a little thicker than the vertical parts of the letters. Almost like it's romand, or something.  Did the romans.shx file change, or do I have some display setting wrong?  Here is the display I have now.

I figured it out- I change Shademode from 2dwireframe to wireframe and it cleans it up alot.

Update- (if anyone is interested) While changing shademode helped, the true culprit was the font mapping file that was changing the romans.shx to a romans truetype font. Once I got rid of that, all went back to a crisp text display.
