Wire Source and Destination

Hi,

I have set-up a drawing package with source and destination wires which cross references sheet numbers. However when I copy and paste the drawings over to another darwing package and change the cross references sheets manually to reflect the new drawing numbers. It breaks the link between the source and destination. Im also sure I have tried doing an auto-update on the cross ref sheets and it has failed to update. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Hi,

It depends what you are doing, when you say " I copy and paste the drawings over to another drawing package" what do you mean by this? do you mean you are copying to new drawings in the same project, or a different project all together?

Also copy and paste is not the best way to copy drawings. You should save and insert as a Wblocked circuit and this way all your components would be updated as well. Otherwise you will end up with parent-child reference conflicts. This does bring up a dialogue box which has a check box asking if you want to "keep any source arrows" which must be ticked.

If you have copied it correctly and your source code is the same as you destination code (seen by bringing up the edit component box) then a simple project wide wire update should also update your wire references.
