Wire numbering increment/sequential Problem

Hey guys,

So I am having trouble getting my wire numbering to work the way I want it to. I was just using sheet # and wire number (%S%N) and I was getting x01, x02, x03.... that was fine. Now I am using "%S%N (%G)" to include wire type. The problem I am having is that it is restarting the numbering for each wire type. As you can see in the PDF I have lots of 101 wires... Is there a easy get around to fix this problem?

The automatic numbering system looks at the entire number when it assigns the various numbers.

It sees 201 (#4) as being different to 201 (#8).

This is why you are getting multiple wires numbered 101. It looks for and does not find a matching number.

The only way around this is to manually assign the wire numbers if you need to keep the wire type as part of the number.

There is another option which is to use the Wire Labels which are separate from the wire numbers. Again, these need to be added manually. I use these to indicate differing wire sizes from the standard on the page.

For example, all our control wiring is 1.5mm but power supplies incoming to fuses/CB's will be 2.5mm or 4mm depending on what the client wants and the power requirements are. On those wires, I just place a wire label stating the required size. If there is no label, it's the standard size.

Ended up going back to %S%N and then using the "Wire Color/Gauge labels" to give me the wire type. A bit of a pain but it works.
