Hello,
I am extremely new to AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical. I've been trying to learn AutoCAD Electrical to use it to make pneumatic schematics, and I've encountered something that I don't understand. From what I understand, the attribute WDBLKNAM is used to define exactly what catalog records are shown. If you look at the attached pictures, "Correct WDBLKNAM Filtering (Attribute Editor)" and "Correct WDBLKNAM Filtering (Lookup)" you'll see I have a symbol with the value of WDBLKNAM set to HFI in the attribute editor, and when I do the lookup it shows that it is filtering by WDBLKNAM value FI, which is what I would expect. However, if you look at the attached pictures, "Incorrect WDBLKNAM Filtering (Attribute Editor)" and "Incorrect WDBLKNAM Filtering (Lookup)" you'll see I have a different symbol with the value of WDBLKNAM set to VCY in the attribute editor, but when I do the lookup it shows that it is filtering by a WDBLKNAM value with the unique identifier added to the end of the symbol name. I would expect that it would filter by a WDBLKNAM value exactly the same as what is set in the attribute editor. So my question is what is the difference between these two cases, and why in the second case is it including the unique identifier?
