Hi there,

Can someone please advise if there are Temperature and Pressure transmitter symbols available in the AutoCAD Electrical libraries?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply.

These are switches. Is there Transmitter symbols, ie 4-20mA output?

For IEC standard, we use a rectangle with some connection points, custom made. The tag displays what kind of transmitter it is, so that we can use the same symbol for different transmitters.

Not sure how this is done with JIC/NFPA.

Maybe @dougmcalexander can share some knowledge about this?

Yeah that's what I use at the moment. However I was just wondering if there was an proper transmitter symbol that I could be using.

Thanks you for your replies.

There are specific temperature and pressure switch symbols in the NFPA library.  They are derived from ANSI Y32.2.  I will post a screenshot from the NFPA library menu.  These are switches.  For RTD, pressure sensor, and load cell, a derivative of a resistor symbol is often used.  The tag letters denote the exact component class, similar to what Trond described for the IEC.  There is a specific symbol for a thermocouple in the Instrumentation category of the NFPA menu.

I am trying to improve the representation of my standard Junction Box Wiring Diagrams and make them more smart. I was wondering if there were ACADE Instrumentation symbols available for Pressure & Diff. Pressure Transmitters, RTD's &  Temp Transmitters etc.  I currently have custom symbols which are just blocks with terminals. However I now believe that these are not available and that I need to use custom symbols. I have used lines instead of wires in my Junction box Wiring Diagrams. Does anyone have any examples of a Smart Junction Box Wiring Diagrams? The Instruments, Junction Box and Linked Tag numbers on my drawings are currently the only current smart features.

Thanks in advance.
