Terminal block with different wire number

Hi everybody,

I have an issue with ACADE in case where I use terminal block and I want to have wires with different wire numbers from each side in case when one side is connected to destination arrow. Problem is that wire connected to destination arrow inherits wire number from source side, which is fine, but at the same time ACADE doesn't allow me to change other wire (connected to the other side of TB). Is there any solution how to overcome this issue?

Sounds like you want to use an HT1001 terminal block instead of an HT0W1 terminal block.

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately that is not solving my problem. I tried that already and ACADE doesn't allow me to change wire number. I can change it if I disconnect from source arrow but when I re-connect wire to arrow then I can't change that number to match with source wire. 

Is there any other solution for this?

Looking at your image I see a destination arrow on a dashed wire to a terminal block. If you change the terminal block to an HT1001 block you should not have any problem using a source arrow and assigning a wire number to the dashed line. If you want to change that dashed line with the destination arrow as shown you need to have a source arrow somewhere with a matching signal code and then assign a wire number to the source wire then do a signal update refresh to see the number appear on the dashed wire.

Each terminal style has 4 versions.

Plain - No number or anything - HT0_01

Utilising the WIRE NUMBER - HT0W01

Separate terminal number - HT0001

Separate Terminal Number WITH Wire Number Change - HT1001

To change a wire number going through the terminal you have to use the last version which is what Jeff was trying to say.

The problem comes in when someone wants to change a wire number while going through a terminal which takes on the Wire Number as a means of identification.

You will need to make a copy of the base dwg for HT0W01 and rename it to something like HT1W01_WIRECHANGE. Then you need to edit the base dwg and change the 4 wire connection points and the associated descriptors.

Only change the LAST DIGIT and make sure that each X# has the same last digit.

For example

X1TERM01 -> X1TERM01

X1TERMDESC01 -> X1TERMDESC01

X2TERM01 -> X2TERM02

X2TERMDESC01 -> X2TERMDESC02

X4TERM01 -> X4TERM03

X4TERMDESC01 -> X4TERMDESC03

X8TERM01 -> X8TERM04

X8TERMDESC01 -> X8TERMDESC04

Finally save the block and test it in a new dwg.

Now when you insert this block, it should allow a Wire Number Change and will hopefully use the number from the wire connection on the Right Hand Side.

Hi Jeff,

I already have source arrow with proper sign code and assigned wire number, that is automatically inherited on destination arrow and dashed wire (which are on current drawing). I tried with HT1001 but when I try to assign number to the wire on right side of terminal block ACADE doesn't allow me to do it. Also, there is a prompt massage stating that it can be done because of destination arrow. It seems like terminal block transferring wire number from one side to another, which is really weird for HT1001. If I try to trick CAD by disconnecting dashed wire from destination arrow I can assign wire number to the wire on right side of TB, but then my wire number for dashed wire is gone, and I can't do anything, again really weird.

Is there any other solution?

In that case, disconnect the dashed wire from the terminal block instead of the arrow.

Set you wire number on the solid wire then reconnect the dashed wire to the block.

It sounds like your block is still an HT0W01 block or your HT1001 block is not setup correctly or it's definition has not been updated in the drawing. I just tried your scenario in the demo project using an HT1001 block and it seems to work just fine.
