Surfer returns emty surf window?

Hi all,

I´m having some issues when surfing on components in my projects. I´m working with ACADE2024 and all was fine but one day this happens i.e. the surf command does not show up in the surf window for some reason (see screenshot below). We have several workstations in our company that have the same behaviour so I suspect that this might have something to do with windows updates or something similar but I haven´t been able to locate what´s causing this. I have reinstalled the software but that did´nt help.

Hope to hear from someone who´s solved the issue.

I also noticed that if I run the Publish to pdf command the same thing occurs i.e. no drawings/sheets are listed in the dialog box (see screenshot below)

Regards, Gary

Make sure that the drawing you have open, is also in the project that is currently open.

Hi Jim,

the file I have open belongs to the current/active project so that´s not the problem.

Thanks anyway for the tip.

Maybe there's an issue with the Project Manager then, since this is also affecting the plot command. I'd try these things, in this order, and check in between to see if it gets fixed. I'm assuming that you've already restarted the software but if not might as well try that too:

1. Close Project Manager and open it right back up.

2. Close just the project, then re-open it.

3. Delete the scratch project database.

4. Repair/reinstall ACADE

If I'd noticed your name when I originally replied I would have realized that of course you know about active drawings/active project, lol. My bad! There's been a lot of noobs here as of late

Hi Jim and thanks again for helping out.

I have tried all options and nothing seems to work.

As mentioned in my thread the software has worked on all workstations previously and that the problem started more or less at the same time. I suspect that this has something to with a 3´rd party software maybe windows updates or virusprotection etc. Unfortunately I have no tools to debug ACADE why it´s not functioning as it should.

Thank´s again and regards,

Gary

If you think it's Windows related, there were a few forum posts not long back talking about some sort of Access update that messed with the Project Manager. Could be related to that. Those posts were from last month, I believe. Maybe check that too.

Beyond that, about the only thing I can think of is to try and roll back the most recent Windows update on one of the machines and see if that gets it together. If so, do it on the rest and maybe talk with your IT folks to keep that particular update from installing again.

Hi Jim,

yes I have looked into that thread and re installed Access 64bit version but that didn't help any.

I think I will have to have a word with our IT guy´s and have them roll back to the most recent update and see if that helps.

Thank´s again and regards,

Gary
