Seeking explanation for symbols in footprint database catalog names i.e.(*,#,@,)

Hi I am curious about some of the symbols used in the catalog numbers in the footprint lookup database, for instance..

In the Siemens footprint database the the catalog number for what I believe to be any a variety of similar parts is

22B@@32A*

What I am curious about is what is the specific role of the @ and * in the catalog number.

Same with another part number down on the bottom with the "#" symbol.

I've seen posts in the forum about the "*" symbol, but is there any knowledge base info for all these symbols or is this some sort of ms access info that I might need to bone up on?

* means any letter or number, and there could be 1 or more.

@ means there must be one letter of the alphabet in that position.

# means there must be one number in that position.

The ? is used to require a single character, which can be either a letter or a number.
