Please Help with Panel Footprints Inconsistent for Different Projects

What could be an issue for inconsistent footprints insertions?

Project # 1
Inserting 8DOR-HOA footprint from Panel > schematic list comes out as the footprint with whiteout background and inserting 8UI6OU footprint comes out as correct 8DOR-HOA, but not the 8UI6OU footprint that I am trying to insert.

Project # 2

Inserting 8DOR-HOA footprint from Panel > schematic list comes out as the footprint with whiteout background and 8UI6OU footprint is the correct one.

Job properties are setup exactly the same; identical.

What is the issue here?

Before you insert the footprint in the other project, run the purge command, and purge all existing blocks.

If this is not it, are both projects set up to use the same panel footprint library?

Thank you for replying,

Yes, both projects are set up to use the same panel footprint library. I just revisited both projects Properties>Panel Footprint Library and both file paths go to the same place; file link paths are identical.

And I purged all blocks on the page before and now after you mentioned it again.

Another strange thing: when I copied the footprint from the 2nd project onto one of the pages (where I have my schematics wirings) in the 1st project, that footprint kept the same shape. When I tried to copy to my panel page, it changed the footprint as a pasted it. I tried to delete that panel page entirely and copied the page that kept the original shape of the copied footprint thinking something is wrong with the panel page. After that I tried to pull in the footprint, and the same problem happens.  I made sure that Property>Drawing Property of the page is set correctly so not to interfere with other pages properties (not to have a duplicate drawings properties on different pages).

This is just how AutoCAD works. Once you have inserted a symbol with a given name, that symbol will be saved internally in the drawings database. Deleting the symbol from the drawing won't make it go away. Purging will, if all instances of that named block is deleted.

If you copy a symbol from another drawing it WILL use the existing one in the drawing is the name is the same.

There's a tool in AcadE to update a symbol with the latest version of the symbol, have you tried that?

No, I am very "green" with footprints. Can you give me some directions, please?

Open the drawing with the problematic footprint.

Select the update/swap block command.(2) in the Schematic tab (1). Choose option "Update a block" (3) and press OK.

Select the footprint to update by selecting it and browse for the CORRECT version of your footprint. Use these settings, and press Active Drwing to update this symbol/footprint in THIS drawing only. You can press Project to update the symbol/footprint in several drawings:

Thank you.

This definitely solved my issue with one of the blocks.

I still have some issues with another block being created incorrectly with the whiteout background and will look into this. But I learned how to swap blocks for the schematic items.

I have to say that I used the AESWAPBLOCK or just SWAPBLOCK command before to correct the printing margins for some projects/costumers.

Thank you again for your time and patience in helping me to resolve this issue.
