pdf batch plot issues with AutoCADE 2015

Hi all

I have an issue with pdf batch plotting in AutoCADE 2015. This issue was there even when i was using AutoCADE 2013. Sometime back, based on some previous discussions here, i tried playing with the .pc3 file, but had no luck.

I have attached a sample pdf which i got using the batch plot command. And by the way, batch plot to printer is working all good.

I'm not able to se what issue you're having. Can you be a little bit more specific?

Hi rhesusminus

Sorry, i admit that i wasn't clear at describing my issue here.. 🙂

If you see the attached pdf in my first post, you will see that some of the objects in the drawing are faded out and some are not.

This pdf was generated using batch plot to pdf option in AutoCADE 2015.

This problem is not there when i print each individual drawing to pdf.

Hope this explanation helps.

Try to uncheck the "font replacement" when publishing to pdf.

Substitute TrueType etc.

The issue is even worse when i do that. please see the attached multisheet pdf file which i got after unchecking 'substitute true type...'.

And, i always use the 'batch plot' option under print menu (see attached screenshot - batch plot.png) instead of using the publish to pdf icon in the project manager tab. Not sure if that will lead to any difference in the print quality.

Also, I just noticed that the plotted pdf file is opening fine in Foxit Reader. The issue with the faded print is only with Adobe Acrobat. Now, i am wondering if the issue is because of problem with Adobe Acrobat or AutoCAD electrical.

Been having that issue too.  Just got it fixed.  I turned off the AEPDFFONTALT in the command line and then changed my text from monochrome.ctb to acad.ctb.  The text format can be changed under the print, page setup option.

Good Luck.

I have also been having this issue but fixed it thanks to jsiemssen313's idea ot turning off AEPDFFONTALT. I did not have to change from monochrome.

Hello Saju_321,

I've spent alot of time with converting autocad dwgs to pdf. When I print a drawing package to PDF, I always use the publish command (same as batch plot in menu). I have tried various ways to improve the publish quality in order to view and print PDF's clearly. But, my final solution (not the cheapest by any means), was to use the driver that came with adobe acrobat and print PDF's using the adobe acrobat driver. I created a pagesetup for adobe pdfs and works like a charm.

On a side note, when using autocads print to pdf print driver and opening the PDF in adobe, I've noticed the PDF's do show up as faded within that program (albeit, they do print out well). The fix in adobe reader/adobe acrobat is goto edit->preferences->page display->uncheck "smooth line art".
