Mvsetup not working

Software not recognizing the "mvsetup"command.  When trying to use the command this message is displayed:

"Couldn't open C:\programfiles\autodesk\autocad 2017\acade\mvsetup.dfs for writing."

Any suggestions? Thanks

Do that file exist there?
C:\programfiles\autodesk\autocad 2017\acade\mvsetup.dfs ?

It shouldn't be there, as that's a protected area where you don't have write access.

What version AutoCAD are you running on what OS?

The MVSETUP command requires write access to the folder where its loaded from.  As noted, secured folders (local, shared network, etc.) tend to get in the way.  While it can be handy in some circumstances I don't find it saves a whole lot of time from creating viewports manually.
