Multi-Level terminal, showing all terminal numbers on panel terminal

Hi.

When, using a multi-level terminal, I need to display the terminal number of the different levels on the panel symbol.

Capture.PNG

Here, terminal 10, 11, 12 and 19, 20, 21 are associated into one 3 level terminal. However... On the panel symbol, only the terminal number of the first level is displayed (10 and 19).

Is it possible to get it to list "10, 11, 12" and "19, 20, 21" in the TERM-attribute?

Trond,

You need to add the following attributes to your panel footprint.

L02TERM

L03TERM

It looks like TERM already exists.

These correspond to TOP, MIDDLE, and BOTTOM in the Terminal Edit Dialog Box.

I do 3 level terminals all the time and this is how I do it.

If you want it to match the wire number use

WIRENO

L02WIRENO

L03WIRENO

You might want to check the footprint first to make sure these attributes don't already exist and are set to invisible.

Hi,

Running AutoCAD Electrical 2015

I have a similar issue, but I can't get this to work.

I am trying to create panel symbols for the Weidmuller ZDU 2.5/4 AN and ZDU ZDU 2.5/2X2 AN.

So for the picture I used the attached symbol (TRMS_EL_ZDU25_4AN_GY) and used TERMDESCR and TERMDESCL to indicate different numbers on each side.

But if I do a export/Import all the terminals change to the TERM value, not very practical.

So I have used this link and created a new symbol, TRMS_EL_ZDU25_4AN_GY_1.

About Panel Attributes Products and versions covered

At first it seem to be working, I am allowed to define different terminals to each level.

But when I press ok term 1 value dissapear, both visually and in the attributes. I it is still visible if i press "Edit" again.

Anybody know why?

I have not had a chance to test it. I will not be able to try until tonight. You can try changing the L01TERM to just TERM.

I do not remember if there is an L01 series of attributes. I recommend removing the L01 part from all the attributes and trying again.

I have to double check but I think that there is no L01TERM attribute.

The first terminal level is always just TERM.

All other levels are L02, L03, etc.

Maybe Pat or Doug can chime in....

Hi,

Ok, I ended up with this then.

Seems to be working.

What value should the L##JUMP attribute have in order to indicate internal jump?

Also found this post that explains this:

WOW, that is a great write up on terminals.

I have not used the L##INJUMP attribute so do not have an answer for you on this. I typically show the internal jumper tying the terminals together and it is on W-JUMPER-INT. This will allow the wire number to pass through but not display.

I have developed a way of showing jumpers to make them standout on the drawing. I only make wire connections from the left or right and all jumpers (both bars and internal) are made from the top and bottom. I show all jumper bars coming  off the terminals at a 45 degree angle. This makes it very visual what is happening.Untitled2.png

Ok, thank you for sharing.

One thing that irritates me by this.

If you are using TERM and L02TERM, AutoCAD electrical changes both of them when doing import/export.

WHY?

So if I want to copy a design and change the location and installation tag, all terminals (TERM and L02TERM) will be renamed to the same number.

This make copying designs useless
