Hi,

I'm using Autocad electrical 2010 and I cannot find Modicon M221 series PLC and TM3 modules in it.

Wondering if anybody know how to update or add M221 series PLC in autocad electrical database?

thanks,

When you install the software and select the manufacturers you wish to load content for, you get all of the parts from each manufacturer you selected. You can go through Windows Control Panel, Programs and Features, and add to or take away from the manufacturer content.

If a PLC brand is listed in the PLC database but a specific module or series isnt, this usually means that Autodesk didn't get that module into the database at the time the software was released. Version 2010 is rather old at this pointment in time. More content is usually added with each new release.

You can add more modules to the database yourself, using the PLC Database File Editor. This is one of the popular topics I cover in advanced training. I must admit that It can seem a bit overwhelming at first. If you wish to try on your own though, follow the instructions in Help. If you think you might want some guidance, I offer person to person support and training via phone/Internet. Visit www.ecadconsultant.com for more information.

I checked the database in AutoCAD Electrical 2016 and found one M221 module, 8030ROM221.  I have attached a screen capture that shows where to find it.  I have used the Momentum series so I'm not too familiar with the M221 modules.  I suppose you will need to add the modules you are using.  You don't usual;y need to create blocks.  You simply add entries into the PLC database using the PLC Database File Editor.  There are 40 blocks per PLC style to choose from for each I/O connection, power terminal, or ground terminal.  Some modules only need 3 blocks to create the entire module on the drawing parametrically.

Thank you for your response. I did check 8030ROM221 it is 16 point Output Module. And it is not related to M221 PLC series.

Full part number of required PLC is TM221CE40T.
