Inserting images

Hi,

Does AutoCAD electrical have a function that lets users insert JPEG or images of other formats into a drawing? I tried to use the same method that I normally use for AutoCAD (copy+paste OR selecting Insert image from functions ribbon), but copy+ paste does not work and image insert function is missing on ribbon.

Thanks

I don't have any problems using CTRL+V to paste into a drawing. Drag-and-drop works, and I also used the PASTE command found at Home>Clipboard. I'm using ACADE 2017.

When you paste, is it via CTRL+V, or some other method? Have you tried drag-and-drop? Note that the PASTE function found within the ACADE menus is for pasting copied circuits, so if you used that one it wouldn't have worked.

Even though you're using ACADE, all of the 'vanilla' ACAD commands are there. If toolbars aren't visible, you should always be able to enter the commands on the command line and use them that way. Typing in either IMAGE or XREF will bring up the external references palette, which is another way for you to insert images.

Yes I am using CTRL+V to paste. I am however using the 2020 version on trial mode, so my guess is maybe the trial version is missing the option for copy paste images?
I haven't used the   commands that you mentioned yet, so I will give that a go. Drag and drop didn't work unfortunately.

Thank you.

Hello,

Thanks for reporting this issue to us!  I have tried it in the ACE2020, however, I can’t reproduce this issue.

Would you please help to restart your machine and try again?

Or do you have a legacy ACE installed in the same machine, does the issue happen in the legacy ACE?

Thanks,
