Insert a Component from the Icon Menu

Hi,

  Anyone know how to insert a electrical symbol in a drawing.  I cant seem to figure this out.  I am using the icon menu wizard, drag and drop does not work nor does copy and paste.  Im sure its simple I am new to acad electrical.  I added a screen shot of the gate valve i want to insert how do insert it from the icon menu wizard?

Open Icon menu, click on thing you want to insert... the icon menu window should go away and your drawing should be brought to the for, then the block will be on your pointer ready for you to place it.

 

Right click on the object in the icon menu to get the "properties"...

You can get the blockname, and the filepath...

That should help you find out where it's supposed to be... if it is not there... then you can't insert it.

Looks like you got into the menu wizard which allows you to edit the menu. You want just the Insert Component menu it looks the same but acts different.

had to lol @ 'NOT WIZARD'

it is soooooo hard to draw letters with a mouse!

Yes, that snipping tool is Great! I've been using it for years, all it needs now is the ability to add text and a tearing affect then it would be Perfect!

What I frequently do, for forum posts anyway, is make the snip, then open it in some other software, like Irfanview. I use that to add text and make other image edits. Still, that's a great attempt you made. I couldn't have done anywhere near as well myself!

Sweet!!  Now if i could only find out how to open Insert Component dialog box.  Do you know the command to open it.  I keep getting the wizard.
