How to create symbols legend in Autocad Electrical??... as the image attached to my post, i need a graphical report and legend of used symbols in my project where the information of symbols is included... is there any idea??

You can insert one of each symbol you use into a drawing that is checked reference only. Use the description fields to type in a description, such as N.O. Pushbutton, Control Relay, etc. There is no need to assign a part number.

Some people create one legend sheet and add it to all projects. Anytime the legend is updated the updated legend appears in all projects. If you are sharing data over a network you could place the legend sheet in a common folder, available to all.

As Doug mentioned, where I work we do this on one standard sheet that moves from project to project. The legend includes a note stating that "some symbols shown here may not be used in this application". The flip side to that is making sure that every symbol used in that application IS in the list. To that end, I leave room at the bottom for one-off, custom symbols that are project-specific.

I've attached a dwg showing one of our standard sheets, it has symbology and some other stuff. This hasn't failed to satisfy a client yet.

EDIT: Also, I copy this drawing into a project folder and add it to the project. Because of this workflow, I had to use AEEXPLODE on the symbols I put on the symbology sheet, otherwise they would show up in reports.

I copy each symbol used in the dwg to our legends and then use the 'Special Explode' command to explode the block.

This removes all hidden attributes and turns any visible attributes into the text they were displaying.

No chance of ACADE still counting the component in the BOM or Cross Reference's.

The Special Explode is part of the Conversion Tools and may be found on that ribbon.

The way I did it was to use a lisp routine that inserts all blocks in a directory into a drawing on a grid

From there I removed all unnecessary blocks

And then created a separate symbols project which I made into a pdf

In my projects I just put a note in the projects cover section

“When reading this project use the symbols project xxxxxxx for a full description of each symbol used”
