normally we do drawing design in model space.

but i change the drawing to paper space and save it.

when i open the drawing next time, it is always opened in paper space, how could i change the default space to model space? so that i can open this specific drawing in model space every time.

Hover over the name of the drawing at the top of the screen till you see the model and the paper space appear then select the model and when you save the file it will remember which space you were in when you saved last.

Drawings will always open in the state you saved them in. Our practice here is:

1. Always perform a Zoom Extents right before saving
2. If there's still work to do on the drawing, save it while in model space
3. If the drawing is done, save it while in paperspace

Doing it like this allows us to quickly scan which drawings still need attention just by looking at the thumbnails in the Project Manager.

Now if only there was some toolbox available that takes care of the "zooming before save" 😄
