how can I Exclude one drawing from project update & sheet number update?

Ok so I have a quick question.

In my project I have my wiring diagrams which are for example 50 pages worth. on the final page I have my panel layouts (which will include how my doors look, backplates, labes etc.

How can I have one drawing (my panel layout drawing) seperate from the rest of the project? What I mean is how can I exclude the final drawing from my total number of sheets in the title block?

I don't really want to create two projects, one for the wiring diagram and one for the layout if it's possible.

So if I have 50 pages say, when I publish the project I want my wiring diagram to say "sheet 1 of 49". Then for the final page I can just edit the attributes to say what I want.

The reason for this is I will make up a number of PDF's for my various layouts from the one drawing by just moving my viewport around. So for one PDF I will just zoom in on the door layout, another PDF I will zoom in on just the backplate etc. If you have any ideas or know a better way that would be great.

Thanks guys

In the title block update dialog you can type in the value for the total number of drawings, overriding the default value.

When you plot or publish do not select the drawing you do not want to plot.

You could use the section/subsection assignments and plot based upon which section a drawing is assigned to.

Hi,

Also, you could use subfolders in your project. Create a subfolder for you Panel, seperatly from you Schematic drawings. Then, update the title block of folder where your schematics are and make sure you exclude the Panel folder from the update.

Hope this helps!

The subsection idea is probably the best way to do this! having two folders keeps it neat and I guess I will just override the maximum sheet number. My panel layout file has so much detail that it crashes the software if I try and do an entire project update anyway. I think it's because I use the hatch command as a fill for my colours (lamps, distribution boards, trunking etc.)

Thanks though guys!

I have created thousands of systems with very dense panel layouts without crashing.  I have projects with over 400 pages that do not crash.  Do you have at least 4GB of RAM?  I have used 4GB and 8GB without crashes related to drawings density.

I know you don't want additional projects, but I have the need for the panel layout to have separate page numbers and title block data so I create sub-projects of the master using a tool I sell called the Super Project Manager.  You can still see the entire project via the master project, but you can subdivide the master up to 9 times.  For one of my customers I have 4 subprojects, like below, and each subproject has its own unique page numbering and title block data.  I run the title block update at subproject-level.

Master Project

[SCH]

[PNL]

[BOM]

[WLIST]

The subfolder idea can separate the drawings just as well, but it didn't exist until 2012 and I needed a way to do this years ago.  But the subfolder function doesn't allow for unique page numbering and title block data for each subset, and I need that too.  That is why I prefer the Super Project Manager.
