HALF "COIL" SYMBOL

RECENTLY STARTED A NEW PROJECT IN AUTOCAD ELECTRICAL. DID ONE DRAWING WITH MULITPLE SYMBOLS AND COMPONENTS AND THEN I RIGHT CLICKED ON A COIL SYMBOL AND CLICKED ON RETAG/UPDATE AND IT CONVERTED ALL MY COIL AND MOTOR SYMBOLS. THE SYMBOLS ARE NO LONGER A COMPLETE CIRCLE BUT 2 ARCS KITTY CORNER TO EACH OTHER. VERY FRUSTRATING CAUSE NOW THIS CHANGE IS PROJECT WIDE AND CANNOT UNDO OR GO BACK TO INSERTING NORMAL COIL SYMBOLS IN THIS PROJECT. DO NOT WANT TO START NEW PROJECT JUST WANT TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. A real quick question first off which will allow us to help you better...

What release of ACADE are you using?

Including this information in your questions will lead to quicker answers as each release of ACADE has some major differences from the prior releases.

To track down a problem or to answer a How-To question requires us to know which release we should be looking at and as much other information as possible (workflow which causes the problem as an example).

Now to your problem...

From the sounds of it, the linetype in the properties is set to something other than 'By Layer' and when the Retag command was run, it also updated the linetype to match.

To check, select one of the blocks and go to properties. In the 'General' section of the block properties, the third line shows what the linetype is.

If it's anything other than 'By Layer', you will need to click on it and change it to 'By Layer'.

Select all the other blocks that are affected and change them as well.

Go to the Home tab on the ribbon and look for the Properties section. There should be three visible settings, Colour, Lineweight & Linetype.

Make sure the Linetype is set to 'By Layer'

If the entry is already set to 'By Layer', check the SYMS layer linetype is set to Continuous.

Go to the 'Home' tab on the ribbon and look for the Layers section. Click on 'Layer Properties' and then find the 'SYMS' layer in the list and click on it once. Follow it across to the linetype column which should read 'Continuous'. If it's something different, click on the linetype name and then select 'Continuous' from the dialog that comes up. Click OK and then close the Layer Properties dialog.
