file not found .dwg

I am using Autocadd Electrical 2015. I have a problem of "file not found **.dwg" error whenever I try to insert components from the Icon Menu. Please help.

Something is wrong with your symbol library paths.

In the project manager, right click on your project and select Properties...

Check that the paths marked in orange in the picture below actually points to the folders where the symbol libraries are.

If you're unsure about the location of the symbol libraries you can try to

1. Select Schematic Libraries
2. Click the Default-button

This should reset the folders to the default location.

I tried clicking default, it changed all the paths, but I get the same error.

The library paths all reference JIC

The schematic Icon menu is ACE_IEC_Menu.DAT

I want IEC symbols

You should edit your WD.ENV file, the row starting with WD_LIB and WD_PNL.

Something like this.

WD_LIB,%SL_DIR%/iec2;%SL_DIR%/iec2/1-;%SL_DIR%/pneu_iso125;%SL_DIR%/pid;%SL_DIR%/hyd_iso125, schem, 1-line, and pneumatic/pid/hydraulic default paths
WD_PNL,%SL_DIR%/panel, panel layout symbol library base folder

Restart AutoCAD Electrical, and now the "default"-button will use those paths instead.

That changed what the default button did, but I still don't have symbols. I still get the DWG file not found.
As a side note, I tried following the directory paths that show up for the schematic libraries on the project properties. I get close, but not the same
The project properties have paths like: C:/users/public/documents/Autodesk/acade 2014/libs/iec2
In windows explorer, the closest I get is:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Acade 2014\Libs\iec-60617
(this is not what the browse tree looks like, but it is what gets copied as the text version of the directory path. I'm assuming windows is doing some sort of directory tree conversion for me.)
I assume there is some way the text you sent me is getting converted into what shows up in the project properties.

It doesn't matter.
Replace IEC2 with IEC-60617 in the WD_LIB line in WD.ENV

I am getting the same error with my AutoCad Electrical 2018. I am using IEC symbols but on certain symbols I get the file not found.

I tried to add the IEC Symbol library as per the suggestion but I don't have the IEC option to add. What should I try?

In your case, it means that the library was not installed when the program was installed.

Exit ACADE

Go to Programs and Features (Win 7) or Apps (Win 10)

Click on Autodesk Electrical

When the installer comes up, select 'Add or Remove Features'

Click Next to get to the page with the symbol libraries

Select the required library(ies) you want to add

Click Next and I would recommend making sure the Express Tools feature has been installed before clicking Update

Once the update has finished, check the location of your libraries to make sure the new folder and its contents have been installed

Restart ACADE and try adding the IEC library again
