Fastener library for autocad electrical

I am creating schematics and panel drawings in Autocad Electrical and would like to insert fasteners such as screws, washers and such.  Is there fastener libraries for Autocad Electrical?  How can I add these items?

There are no Libraries for Fasteners in ACADE.

There are several methods for you to get them though.

1. You could bring the drawings into ACADM (AutoCAD Mechanical)  and use the built in libraries there to insert screws, washers, and structural steel.

2. Create blocks for Screws and washers ( or download them ) and use them as regular blocks ( not tracked in BOM)

( use design centre or Tool pallets for Access, just put all the blocks in one DWG)

3. Create blocks for Screws and washers ( or download them ) then author them as ACADE Components, making a table in the Default Catalog to hold the manufacturing data (make , length, coating, head type etc.), then add them to the ICON Menu.

4.  Create blocks for Screws and washers ( or download them ) and use them as regular blocks, but place them in the Icon menu.  again they won't be tracked but at least you will have access to them.  ( requires Separate Drawings for each part)

You could also do the Mechanical design in Inventor and use the cable and harness module to 3D route wires.

I hope this helps,

For items like this, there are no out-of-the-box libraries for either symbols or catalog numbers. They can be added, however.

For footprint symbols, you'll have to create your own blocks. This means you will download, or draw from scratch, each different screw and washer. The good news here is that ACADE is flexible about the graphics -- you can find an online block library and massage it to fit your needs. Be sure to review the info in HELP regarding footprints.

For catalog info, you can add it via the catalog browser. If it were me, I would put it all in the EN family, which is for 'Enclosures/Hardware'. But you're by no means limited to that. For more info, see 'To Work With Editing the Catalog Database Records' in HELP.

Hope this helps,
Jim
