export/edit/import now terminals have no catalog information

I exported a drawing set, changed all the installation codes (some were missing, otherwise all were correct), reimported it and now all my terminal catalog data and item numbers are missing in my layouts.  Any clues as to why?

The terminals in the layouts all have the appropriate attributes.

I even tried updating from an older version of the project database, still didnt fix it.

This was a strange one.
Are the balloons that are missing, or are they blank? If you type AEXDATA and select a footprint, are you able to see the item numbers there?

What version of autocad electrical do you have?

Are you exporting panel terminals or schematic terminals?

Version 2018

Exported everything and added installation code to every terminal and component.

It started throwing all kinds of errors on re-import, such as database size exceeded.

Which was odd, as the database wasn't even 2 gig, and my version of office is 2010.

I've also had it where the WDP file crashes and wipes out the drawing properties information.

Just going to chock these up to another bug Autodesk wont fix.

It pains me that Autodesk has spent more time building crash recovery tools than fixing their bugs.

Just out of curiosity..
Do you have your projects on a server?
Do the same happen with the files located locally?

Havea look at the 2020.1 release. Bugs fixed!

I rebuilt the project

Then re-ran the item number resequence

Rebuilt the project once again

The bill of material REPORT had duplicate records (for terminals) for the same part number, only different quantities in each.

When added together, the quantity was correct however.

Some sub-quantity (assembly code) items had item numbers assigned to them (fuses - fused terminal blocks), though they are not inserted anywhere else in the drawing set individually.

This may be why the 2 were not combined when I did a resequence of the item numbers.

Used the export feature and exported everything

Removed all "Item" and all "P_Item" values

Re-imported.

Then re-ran the item number resequence

Wham, NO catalog information in the panel layout terminal blocks that had previously been inserted, all other blocks were correct.

On a side note and a MAJOR BUG out of the box of 2018, I NOTED MANY OF THE STOCK AUTODESK TERMINAL BLOCKS FOR PANEL LAYOUTS HAVE DUPLICATE ATTRIBUTES including the CAT attribute,

THOUGH THIS IS NOT THE CAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. Discovered this the other day when I would change the catalog number in the schematics, but the bill would not come out right.

Apparently when a catalog number changes in the schematic, it updates the first listed CAT attribute in the block.

When you run a report, it pulls from the last CAT attribute in the block.

Whats that? Comos Calling????
