ESC key does not work

The ESC key on my laptop HP ProBook 450 does not work in AutoCAD Electrical 2017. However if I use an external keyboard it works fine.I am sure that the laptop keyboard is working because it does work in other applications and I did a keyboard test. There is no other application on the laptop, it is a freshly installed copy of Windows 10 and Firefox is the only other application installed on the computer. I don't think the problem is with AutoCAD. I would like some help to find the problem. Thanks.

Yes, it does work with the combination Fn + Esc.

Although it works, I would like to have just the Esc key work, I teach a class of 30 students and just imagine how many times I have to repeat an instruction for one two hour session, twice a week.

It's A computer setting, not AutoCAD. You'll have to find the fn-Lock function. BIOS might be a place to start.

Thank you very much. Now my semester is a lot more pleasant. The check box beside "Fn key switch" in the BIOS was checked. I removed it and now AutoCAD works the way it was intended. The check box worked opposite to what I thought it did.

Just as a follow up to this thread. Had the same issue but the only fix was a new keyboard from my IT department. Just FYI. Thanks
