Hello everyone,
I'm not very electrically charged so to speak 🙂 coming from other sectors. So the following question might seem evident to some of you, but I need some help or direction to figure out which would be the best approach.
Our client wants to be able to indicate the cable and cable type in which the individual wires are combined with one of the following symbols:
It looks like a series of linked cable markers, but it would have to be a single symbol which applies the cable marker 'slashed line' automatically on the intersection of the crossing wires. (not necessarily pre-defined positions) Also it would be nice if the markers refer to the overarching symbol as in a parent/child relation or if the individual wires can have a reference to the cable name/indicator.
Is this possible with the out of the box symbols? or do I need to make a custom symbol, would I be able to mimic this correctly with a custom cable marker symbol or should I make a combination of a basic cable marker symbol with some other symbol and command entry from the icon menu (so far I haven't made custom icon menu commands)
Or would this need to be developped including the behaviour in a series of custom Autolisp commands creating a new type of symbol with xdata and custom attributes?
Do any of you use a similar symbol? How did you make it? which workflow did you follow?
Thank you for your time.
