Custom Ribbon for Frequently Used Tools

Please add a customizable ribbon feature that allows users to select frequently used tools and place the ribbon anywhere on the screen. During critical drawing edits, users often rely on only two or three tools means, so having a user-defined ribbon would reduce the need to repeatedly access the full tool palette, drop down menu etc..”

If this feature already exists, please guide us on where to locate it in the application

You can customize your own tool palette and dock it to the side of the screen and populate it with your most utilized commands.

Command: TOOLPALETTES "The tool palettes should appear on screen" / You will have access to all the standard metric and imperial tool palettes bundled with AutoCAD."

  • Right Mouse Click on the palette fly-out section and uncheck "auto-hide" so this makes it easier to view and modify.
  • RMC again on the fly-out section and select New Palette, by default it will create a "New Palette" and while this is blank, RMC and then rename it.
  • RMC again and select "customized commands".  The Customize User Interface will appear. In the Command List: section select Electrical Commands from the drop-down list.

You can also use the search field to locate a command Ex: Panel Item Balloon.  Type Balloon in the search and the associated command will appear in the list.

Select the command and drag it to your new tool palette.

  • Repeat these steps to populate with whatever you need to streamline your design process.
  • Once completed, RMC on the flyout and select "allow docking. RMC again and select "Anchor Left/Right to place the tool palette to whichever side of the screen you prefer.

There are other customization options available for tool palettes. You will have to do some extra reading and experimentation with the CUI editor to customize commands and scripts.

Hope this helps!
